The international standard ISO/IEC 27071 led by China; The 2023 "Security Recommendations for Establishing Trusted Connections between Network Security Devices and Services" has recently been officially released.


This standard proposal was submitted to the SC27 Technical Committee of JTC1 under ISO and IEC in 2015. After research, the project was approved in April 2019 and officially released in July 2023. The editor and coeditor of the standard are Zhang Liwu, a researcher from the Software Research Institute of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, and Wang Huili, a senior engineer from the China Institute of Electronic Technology Standardization.


ISO/IEC 27071 provides a framework and security recommendations for establishing trusted connections between devices and services, including security recommendations for hardware security modules, trust roots, identities, identity authentication and key establishment, environmental proof, data integrity and authenticity, and other components.


This international standard is applicable to various scenarios where hardware security modules are used to establish trusted connections between devices and services, such as mobile payments, the Internet of Vehicles, and the Industrial Internet of Things. This standard helps to improve the security of the entire process of data collection from devices to services.
