The Hong Kong & China Gas Co Ltd joins the HKCNSA as a corporate member

On March 11, 2025, The Hong Kong & China Gas Co Ltd (Towngas) joined HKCNSA as a corporate member. Towngas, founded in 1862, is Hong Kong’s first public utility. Today, it stands as one of the largest energy suppliers in the region, operating with world-class corporate management and leading-edge business practices.

Towngas made its foray into Chinese mainland in 1994. They have more than 970 projects, including renewable energy solutions (such as solar photovoltaic), piped city-gas projects, gas supply chain, water supply and urban waste utilisation projects, as well as new energy exploration and utilisation ventures, across 29 provincial regions. In recent years, Towngas has put tremendous effort in developing clean energy solutions for sea, land and air in order to achieve the vision of carbon neutrality. These include hydrogen energy, green methanol for vessels as well as sustainable aviation fuels (SAF).

Mr. David Ip, the Founding Chairman of HKCNSA, welcomed the joining of Towngas. He said, we are delighted to welcome Towngas as a corporate member of the association. We believe that Towngas’ outstanding business capabilities will align seamlessly with the association’s mission, working together to drive the application and development of cybersecurity technology in the energy sector.
In the coming years, the association will collaborate with Towngas to deepen exchanges and cooperation in the field of cybersecurity, enhance information security management, and work together to create a safer, more efficient, and more sustainable industry environment.
