On September 12, 2023, during the National Cybersecurity Awareness Week, the "2023 Cybersecurity Industry Talent Development Report" (hereinafter referred to as the "Report") was released. The report was jointly issued by the CEIAEC, CAC of Haidian District, Beijing, the Teaching Guidance Committee for Network Space Security Majors, and CEAC. It introduces five sections, including the development of cybersecurity industry domestically and internationally, characteristics of cybersecurity professionals in China, supply and demand analysis, talent cultivation, and development recommendations.

Mr. Mingdan Wu, Vice President of DAS-Security, interpreted the report at the release event. He pointed out that the proportion of cybersecurity professionals aged 18-25 has reached 31.4%, becoming the backbone of this field. This data has grown rapidly compared to just two years ago when it was only 3.2%. Similarly, professionals aged 31-40 still have the highest proportion at 35.2%, but it has declined from 50.8% in 2022 and 59.7% in 2021. Professionals aged 26-30 account for 20.8%, while those over 40 account for 12.6%. The trend of rejuvenation is evident with more young people entering the industry, injecting it with new vitality.


In 2023, the application of intelligent cybersecurity became a new hotspot, with three companies making breakthroughs in the field of intelligent technology. The application directions include intelligent SOC, intelligent network defense and offense, and intelligent governance and privacy security.

The report concludes by providing five recommendations for the development of cybersecurity talent, including strengthening discipline construction, implementing industry-education integration, enhancing regional exchanges, cultivating practical capabilities, and strengthening policy guidance to promote coordinated development of cybersecurity talent.
