Hong Kong China Network Security Association Congratulates the Formal Establishment of Hong Kong Digital Policy Office

On July 25, 2024, the Digital Policy Office (DPO) under the Innovation, Technology, and Industry Bureau (ITIB) of the Government of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (HKSAR) was officially established, marking a solid and important step in Hong Kong's digital transformation. The Hong Kong-China Network Security Association (HKCNSA) would like to extend its warmest congratulations to the establishment of the DPO. It will further promote the development of Hong Kong's digital economy, digital government, and digital society, and provide more solid policy support and development opportunities for cyber security work.

The establishment of the DPO is not only a strategic deployment of the Hong Kong Government to respond positively to the global trend of digitization and to enhance the effectiveness and competitiveness of government services, but also a far-reaching plan for the prosperous development of Hong Kong's digital economy in the future. In this data-driven era, the construction of a digital government is not only a technological innovation, but also a comprehensive upgrade of the government's governance idea and service model. The DPO will take up the important role of formulating relevant policies and measures, promoting the extensive application of advanced information technology by the HKSAR Government, and continuously enhancing the efficiency and quality of government services by adopting a data-, citizen- and result-oriented approach.

The Hong Kong-China Network Security Association (HKCNSA) has always been committed to promoting exchanges and cooperation in the field of cyber security between the two places, to jointly build a secure, trustworthy, and open cyberspace. HKCSA is fully aware that the construction of a digital government is inseparable from solid network security protection. Therefore, the Association looks forward to establishing a close partnership with the DPO to jointly study and formulate cybersecurity policies and standards that are in line with the actual situation in Hong Kong, to safeguard the healthy operation of the digital government.

The Association believes that under the leadership of the DPO, Hong Kong will achieve even greater splendor on the road to digital transformation. Through measures such as strengthening digital infrastructure, promoting data openness and sharing, and facilitating innovation and development of the digital economy, Hong Kong will further enhance its influence and competitiveness in the global digital economy. At the same time, the Association also looks forward to the active role of the DPO in promoting Hong Kong's administrative services and building a more convenient and efficient bridge for Hong Kong's exchanges and cooperation with the Mainland and the international community.

Here, the Association would like to express once again its sincerest congratulations on the establishment of the Hong Kong Government Digital Policy Office! May the Office continue to make new achievements and breakthroughs in its future work, and contribute its wisdom and strength to Hong Kong's digital transformation and the prosperous development of the digital economy!
