On January 14, 2025, the F5 BFSI DAY, hosted by corporate member F5 Networks and supported by the Hong Kong China Network Security Association (HKCNSA), was successfully held. The event focused on how the banking and financial services (BFSI) industry can address the challenges of scalability, resilience, and security of critical information infrastructure in an AI-driven environment.

The event featured keynote speeches and panel discussions covering topics such as The Data Gravity Effect, Navigating AI Security Risks in BFSI and Unlocking API Security. The HKCNSA was honored to participate in the panel discussion, moderated by Mr. David Ip, Founding Chairman of HKCNSA, speakers included: Mr. Willis Yung, Deputy Director of the Association's Financial Services Cybersecurity Committee and Chief Information Security Officer of PAO Bank; Mr. Johnny Chow, Director of Information Security Strategy at AIA Group; Mr. Patrick Fan, Founder of FobriXA1 & beNovelty; and Mr. Tom Huang, Head of Technology and Operational Risk at Livi Bank.
The discussion centered on Maintaining Security and Resilience While Embracing AI First Innovations. The panelists shared valuable insights into the dual challenges and the adoption of AI in BFSI. They emphasized the transformative role of AI in customer experience, fraud detection, and operational efficiency, showcasing how AI technology can bring significant improvements and advantages in these areas.
The panelists also delved into specific case studies of AI technology in practical applications. For instance, some banks have successfully utilized AI to optimize customer service, enhancing customer satisfaction through intelligent customer service systems. Additionally, the application of AI in fraud detection has been widely recognized, with machine learning algorithms enabling faster and more accurate identification of potential fraudulent activities, thereby safeguarding customer funds.
