HKCNSA Participates in AI and Information Security Day, Exploring the Future Path of Artificial Intelligence

On August 20th, the Hong Kong China Network Security Association (HKCNSA) participated as a supporting organization in the “AI and Information Security Day,” an event organized by its corporate member, F5 Networks Hong Kong Limited. The event successfully brought together a multitude of IT industry elites and experts who, through a series of insightful and cutting-edge presentations, explored the challenges, opportunities, and management strategies of AI in real-world applications.


Prominent industry experts attended the event, including Shain Singh, Co-Lead of the OWASP Machine Learning Project and Chief Security Architect for F5 Asia Pacific; Lin Jing, Head of AI Technology for F5 Greater China; and Justin Chong, Cybersecurity and Cloud Security Manager at PwC. They shared insights on topics such as “Experiences and Case Studies in the IT Sector as We Move Towards the AI Era” and “Ensuring the Security of AI Applications.” Through vivid case studies, they highlighted AI's significant potential in enhancing enterprise efficiency and optimizing resource allocation while also addressing the security challenges and strategies needed during AI deployment and management.



The event featured a lively roundtable discussion on AI and information security, moderated by Mr. David Ip, Founding Chairman of HKCNSA. Together with other industry experts, he engaged in in-depth discussions on AI technology trends, security challenges, and optimization strategies for enterprise applications. They unanimously agreed that AI is gradually becoming integral to every aspect of work, but the unknown risks and challenges, especially regarding security, must not be overlooked. Effective risk prevention and control are essential for future development.

Mr. Shain Singh shared his unique perspective on AI's diverse roles within organizations, emphasizing the transition from a supporting tool to a communication bridge. He highlighted that while AI applications can significantly improve efficiency and reduce costs, their security management challenges must not be ignored, and lessons from the early development of technologies like cloud computing should be applied.

Ms. Silvia Ihensekhien shared her valuable experience in AI project management from a corporate practice perspective. She emphasized that enterprise architecture teams should be the core drivers of AI projects, ensuring that AI applications align closely with business strategies while strictly adhering to security and compliance standards. Through in-depth data analysis and case evaluations, companies can accurately identify the value of AI projects and collaborate with teams in security, cloud, and data privacy to ensure the steady progress of AI initiatives.

The event also focused on cutting-edge technologies such as Kubernetes, generative AI, and machine learning, exploring how these technologies can build a robust performance and security foundation for AI applications. The discussions gave attendees insights on maximizing the value of AI investments. This event broadened the participants' technical horizons and laid a solid foundation for the widespread application of AI technology across various industries.



Looking ahead, HKCNSA will closely monitor the latest technological developments and trends in the digital era. Leveraging its resources as a strategic partner, the association will enhance communication and collaboration with industry peers to jointly explore innovative applications and best practices in the AI era.
