HKCNSA collaborates with Hong Kong Police Force, To organize Youth Cybersecurity Activities

The Youth Committee of the Hong Kong China Network Security Association is an important platform for promoting cybersecurity education and training, and for guiding a healthy internet culture among young people. In response to the current problems of weak cybersecurity and frequent occurrence of cyber frauds among young people, the Youth Committee will play a leading role and join hands with the Kowloon East Regional Crime Prevention Office of the Hong Kong Police Force to organize youth cybersecurity activities, aiming to enhance young people's awareness of cybersecurity and self-protection skills.

On August 27th, the Association had its first meeting with the Kowloon East Regional Crime Prevention Office, in which both parties planned the themes and forms of youth cybersecurity activities. During the meeting, Mr. David Ip, founding chairman of HKCNSA, and Mr. Eric Chan, Director of the Youth Committee, shared rich experience in cybersecurity education and practical experience with the Association's profound accumulation in the field of cybersecurity, thus laying a solid professional foundation for the youth cybersecurity activities. Mr. LEE Chin-wang, Senior Inspector of the Kowloon East Regional Crime Prevention Office, with his rich police experience and professional legal knowledge, integrated legal authority and practical wisdom into the content of the activity to ensure that it was both educational and practical.

Currently, as “digital natives,” young people are closely connected to the internet in their daily lives but face numerous potential dangers such as high risks of personal information leakage, frequent online fraud, and exposure to harmful information. Therefore, strengthening cybersecurity education for young people and creating a safe and healthy online environment is particularly important. The collaboration between the Association and the   Kowloon East Regional Crime Prevention Office will help improve the cybersecurity literacy of young people and foster a positive atmosphere across Hong Kong that emphasizes youth cybersecurity and builds a strong cybersecurity defense.

Looking ahead, the Youth Committee of the HKCNSA will leverage its professional advantages in cybersecurity education and youth guidance, working closely with the  the   Kowloon East Regional Crime Prevention Office to jointly prepare for the upcoming youth cybersecurity activities. The Association will also closely monitor new challenges and trends in the field of youth cybersecurity, aiming to effectively enhance the cybersecurity awareness and self-protection skills of young people through practice-oriented education models and diversified teaching methods.
