On March 20, the OASES Partnership Signing Ceremony held by the Office for Attracting Strategic Enterprises (OASES) was successfully concluded. Mr. David Ip, Founding Chairman of HKCNSA, and Ms. Christy Tang, Vice President, were invited to attend the event, engaging in in-depth discussions with government officials and industry experts on the introduction of domestic cybersecurity companies, witnessing the establishment of several key enterprises in Hong Kong and participating in the signing ceremony.
During the signing ceremony, Mr. John Lee, Chief Executive of the Hong Kong SAR, delivered a speech. He mentioned that Hong Kong has long-term advantages in finance, intellectual property protection, and network connectivity, which can be leveraged to promote technology transfer, attract foreign investment, foster cross-border cooperation, and drive innovation and technological development. He welcomed all key enterprises to develop in Hong Kong and expressed confidence in their continued vibrant growth in the city.
Mr. Paul Chan, Financial Secretary of the Hong Kong SAR, pointed out that Hong Kong, under the principle of "one country, two systems", Hong Kong maintains the rule of law, a free and open business environment, free flow of capital, data and talent, as well as seamless alignment with best international governance standards. With a comprehensive and sophisticated financial eco-system, world-class academic and research institutions and their strong R&D capabilities, Hong Kong is an ideal location for strategic enterprises to expand their businesses. He also said that the Government will continue to support R&D to drive the commercialization of research outcomes and promote new industrialization, nurture local start-ups and talent, and boost the collaboration with sister cities in the Greater Bay Area with a view to cultivating a more thriving innovation and technology ecosystem.
The signing ceremony attracted over 200 representatives from key enterprises, local foreign chambers of commerce, research institutions, and government departments. The OASES stated that it will continue to actively engage with domestic and foreign enterprises to attract more high-value-added technology, and other companies to settle in Hong Kong. For enterprises interested in developing in Hong Kong, the OASES and other relevant departments will provide one-stop services, fully supporting their business development in Hong Kong.
