On August 2, 2024, Cyber Attack and Defence Elite Training cum Tournament (CADET2), co-organized by the Cyber Security and Technology Crime Bureau (CSTCB) of the Hong Kong Police Force, the Digital Policy Office (DPO) and the Hong Kong Internet Registration Corporation Limited (HKIRC), successfully concluded. The Hong Kong China Network Security Association was honored to be one of the supporting organizations for this event. Mr. David Ip, the founding chairman of the HKCNSA, attended the event in person, gathering with industry and academic elites. As an international financial center and a hub of technological innovation, Hong Kong faces severe cyber security risks in the digital wave. This competition meticulously designed cyber security training courses and simulated cyber-attack competitions, providing a valuable platform for practical exercises for industry and academic. It significantly enhanced participants’ awareness and ability to respond to cyber threats.

Rooted in the firm belief of cultivating practical cyber security talents, the competition relied on the “Digital Wind Tunnel” product system, combined with the unique regulations and standards of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region, to build a comprehensive, multi-dimensional digital asset risk management and assessment environment. This environment covered key aspects such as risk identification, verification, and remediation, effectively improving participants’ practical skills and cultivating a new generation of cyber defense experts for the digital age.

As the only network association in Hong Kong, HKCNSA has always shouldered the responsibility of promoting industry development and cultivating new forces. The association not only actively encourages practitioners to participate in various offensive and defensive training and competitions, but also cultivates a new generation of talents through the joint efforts of top experts from China and Hong Kong, which helps to improve the overall level of network security in Hong Kong.

Over the years, the Association has been working closely with government departments such as the Hong Kong Internet Registration Corporation Limited, the Cyber Security and Technology Crime Bureau, and the Digital Policy Office to enhance the awareness and overall response to cyber-attacks in the face of cyber security threats on a daily basis.

In the future, HKCNSA will continue to deepen cooperation with government departments, industry associations, and enterprises, contributing wisdom and strength to the construction of Hong Kong’s cyber security industry and the development of Digital China and Cyber Power.
