On November 22, 2024, a luncheon hosted by Akamai, a corporate member of the association, and co-organized by the Hong Kong China Network Security Association (HKCNSA), was successfully held at the Crowne Plaza Hotel in Hong Kong. The event focused on exploring innovative applications and compliance challenges in the field of cybersecurity, aiming to promote industry exchange and cooperation, and help cybersecurity professionals better cope with the rapidly changing cybersecurity environment.
The HKCNSA was honored to participate in the panel discussion session, Mr. David Ip, Founding Chairman of HKCNSA, serving as the moderator. Mr. Wilson Tang and Ms. Chandy Ye, Vice presidents of the association、 Mr. Isaiah Wong, Director of the Association’s Financial Services Cybersecurity Committee and Ms. Josephine Choi, member of the Association’s Talent Development and Education Committee joined as panelists to discuss Hong Kong's cybersecurity laws and how to enhance the cybersecurity of critical infrastructure.

In the panel discussion, the guests deeply analyzed the compliance requirements of Hong Kong's cybersecurity laws, emphasizing the basic measures that corporate employees should take to comply with legal requirements and the importance of compliance for business operations. Additionally, the guests shared strategies on how to effectively enhance the cybersecurity framework of critical infrastructure operators to address increasingly complex cyber threats, providing practical advice and solutions.
The event also featured speeches by Mr. Parimal Pandya, SVP & Managing Director, Akamai, Asia Pacific & Japan, and Mr. Sean Li , Regional VP and Managing Director of Greater China. Mr. Pandya shared Akamai's global service experience and innovative achievements, particularly breakthroughs in the integration of artificial intelligence and cybersecurity applications. Mr. Li provided an in-depth interpretation of the latest developments in Hong Kong's cybersecurity laws, highlighting the challenges and opportunities for enterprises in terms of compliance. These insights helped attendees gain a more comprehensive understanding of the current cybersecurity landscape and future trends.
